Using a Leash for Rabbits

Taking advantage of good weather to bring your rabbit outside for a run is a joyful experience. However, if an emergency occurs, a rabbit running at high speed may quickly become frightened and disappear. It is also possible that the rabbit could run too far away, and the owner might not be able to catch up in time to rescue it.

To avoid such regrets, fastening a leash to your rabbit becomes a necessary safety measure. When putting the leash on, there should be enough room to fit one finger between the harness and the rabbit to ensure comfort, as a leash that is too tight can cause discomfort.

Additionally, it is important to check the knots periodically to make sure they are neither too loose nor too tight, and adjust accordingly.

The correct way to use a rabbit leash is not to drag the rabbit forcefully or make it stay by your feet, but rather to allow the rabbit freedom to move. In dangerous situations, you can step on the leash to restrict the rabbit's movements and then quickly pick it up.

If the rabbit strongly resists being leashed or seems uncomfortable, owners can consider using strollers, playpens, or tents to create a safe space for the rabbit to run and hop freely.
