Cat Campaigns Against Scams: How Feline Friends Help Fight Fraud

"Are you listening?" That's what the cats seem to be asking as they try to get your attention. With the rapid advancement of technology and social progress, scam groups have also become increasingly sophisticated in their fraudulent methods. Especially in Taiwan, the recent widespread issue of "Cambodian scams" has made it more important than ever for people to carefully scrutinize and guard against scams.

Many countries and local governments have started producing awareness videos to remind the public to stay vigilant and prevent falling victim to fraud. Riding this wave of "anti-scam awareness videos", a series of Japanese videos from 2019 called "Cats Promote Scam Prevention" has recently been rediscovered and shared enthusiastically online.

The Secret Ninja Technique of Cats to Grab Attention

To make these educational videos less boring and more engaging, Japan adopted what they call the "Ninja Art: Cats' Eye-Catching Technique". Cute cats were enlisted to help curb the tide of scams! Many of these feline stars focus on protecting their older human companions—cat owners—from falling prey to fraudsters by using all kinds of adorable antics. Their goal? To stop their "masters" from sending money to scam groups.

▼ Stealing the bank card to prevent transfers!

▼ Tearing up scam letters!

▼ Refusing to leave the ATM to block transfers!

Interestingly, many Japanese viewers admit that their attention is completely captured by the cats, often forgetting the actual content of the message after watching. Yet, seeing the cats' earnest attempts to stop scams is heart-melting and leaves a lasting impression.

Five Videos of Feline Fraud Fighters

This anti-scam campaign consists of a total of five videos. Let's take a look at how these cats put in tremendous effort to protect their humans. For many cat lovers, the message is clear: rather than sending money to unknown scam groups, it's far better to spend it on buying more canned food for your furry friends!

After all, scam groups definitely don't know how to be cute!
