British photographer Gerrard Gethings has taken on this fascinating question by pairing pets with people who look strikingly similar. Through his meticulous photography, the portraits look like genuine owner-and-pet duos. Although the reality is different, the resemblance is so uncanny that no one would argue if you called them family.
Gethings, who has photographed many animals over the years, focuses in this series on common pet cats and dogs. Both the animals and their human counterparts showcase unique personalities through their appearances.
