Imagine opening your office door, expecting an empty room, only to find a koala sitting on your paperwork! This bizarre scenario happened to a man in Australia who found a 'new colleague' unexpectedly occupying his home office.
The Unexpected Encounter
The man, who works from home in a small building behind his house, was stunned to find a live koala inside. "I've lived here for 30 years and have never seen a koala this close!" he exclaimed.
Rescue by WIRES
Panicked, the homeowner contacted neighbors, who then called WIRES (Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service), a wildlife rescue organization. Rescuer Jayden Kolic-Clarke noted that koalas often end up in odd locations, such as telephone poles and highways. He believes this particular koala wandered far from home, navigating through the driveway, fence, and garage before getting trapped in the office.
Meet Paddy
WIRES named the koala 'Paddy.' Fortunately, Paddy was healthy but seemed unhappy in his new office setting. WIRES emphasized the importance of keeping a safe distance when encountering wildlife and contacting professionals.
Safe Return to Habitat
Jayden took Paddy to the rescue organization for a check-up. After being cleared by a veterinarian, Paddy will be released back into his natural habitat, surrounded by eucalyptus trees. According to Jayden, Paddy is much happier away from the stressful office environment. It appears that koalas, just like humans, can experience office-related woes!
