Recently, a woman visited a cat café and was amused to see a hand-drawn "soul portrait" of the day's featured cat displayed on the glass door. The drawing was so hilariously ugly that she couldn't help but laugh. However, when she finally encountered the actual cat, her laughter turned to silence, as the real cat looked exactly like the one depicted in the drawing.
A user on Xiaohongshu, known as "Meow Meow Doesn't Make Cat Buns," shared her experience at a cat café. Upon entering, she noticed a hand-drawn portrait of a cat on the café's glass door. The portrait read: "There are cats in the café, and this one is named Huahua. Please note that it is not cross-eyed." Initially, she thought the odd and ugly drawing depicted a cross-eyed cat. Yet, upon seeing the real cat, she burst into laughter because it truly resembled the drawing. Although it wasn't cross-eyed, its close-set eyes might lead one to think otherwise.
The photo showing the striking resemblance between the actual cat and its portrait has gone viral online. Many netizens commented on the post, saying things like, "I was wondering why an employee would draw such an ugly picture of a cat; now I see it really is ugly," and "Am I about to die from laughter? Is this the legendary cross-eyed cat?" Others chimed in with remarks like, "You say this cat isn't cross-eyed? I can't help but think it looks like it is," and "There’s a reason everyone calls this cat cross-eyed."
The real-life cat portrayed in the drawing has been described by many online users as looking almost identical to its artistic representation.
