Many pet lovers have been noticed attending pet exhibitions and similar events, where it's clear that Taiwan has a significant number of animal enthusiasts. Beyond just keeping cats and dogs, there are also many people in Taiwan who keep reptiles and snakes as pets. However, this article isn't about discussing the proportion of pet owners but rather about showcasing dedicated cat owners abroad who have spent $10,000 building a house for their beloved pets.
While many pet owners prepare cozy little dens for their pets, typically consisting of a cat bed and litter box, the YouTube channel "CatPusic" has taken it to a whole new level. They spent approximately $10,000, equivalent to about TWD 300,000, to build a cat house using purely handmade methods. This project involved using materials like foam cushions that are safe for cats, stacking them up to the height of a ceiling.
The construction likely took place in an empty garage, where all the materials were first purchased and laid out. Following a detailed design, the foam was cut to shape, and the structure of the house, both inside and out, was designed to mimic a human dwelling. The house features a multi-story design and includes dedicated rooms for the two cats, Mila and Pusic.
Upon completion, the house resembled a typical European or American family home. To capture the cats' first visit to their new home, the filmmakers attached camera collars to them. The house offers ample space, including a kitchen area dedicated to storing cat food. The cats have plenty of room to roam freely, ensuring they can play without any restrictions. Perhaps the most impressive feature is the TV setup playing "Tom and Jerry". though it's unclear if the cats appreciate the show.
This is not an isolated case; many YouTubers abroad create elaborate homes for their pets, with each video showcasing more luxurious creations than the last.
